Hey everybody! My name is Rowan Plinsky and I am a freshman here at Washburn. I was born and raised in Lawrence Kansas, where I attended Free State High School. I chose to major in Mass Media because I hope to someday become a journalist, the goal is to report for VICE News or NPR. I think that knowing about what is going on in the world is incredibly important. If more people payed attention to the world around them I believe a lot of the social justice problems we have today would be solved.
My great passion in life is slam and spoken word poetry. I love writing, performing, and even editing poetry. This love of poetry has led me to join the Headphones For Hope group here on campus.
The final thing you need to know is that I have a dog, she is very fluffy, and I love her. Here is a picture of her and myself.
