My Name is Jesica Randel and I was born Houston, Texas. I grew up partially in Ottawa, Kansas and partially in the Houston/Katy area of Texas. I am a Mass Media Film and Video major at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. Because of my major I view myself as an artist as well as someone who works in the mass media field. I decided on Washburn as my school of choice because it had the program I wanted and I believe it will lead me to interesting opportunities. I chose to study mass media and film and video in particular because I love the artistic creativity that goes into the creation of film. It is a visual story told from the heart and imagination of it's creator to a wide and varied audience. I love stories especially fantasy and science fiction stories. I love even more that I am gaining the ability to create them and show people the world as I see it.
I have a variety of hobbies that I enjoy. I enjoy reading and on occasion writing fanfiction or original fiction. I also enjoy shooting cameras, bows, and guns. I shoot a lot of things, but never with violent intent thus far. Hopefully I will soon be able to add actual film cameras instead of just cameras that take photographs to the list.
Cool! What sort of fantasy and science fiction do you like? I used to write some fanfiction myself. I posted a Back to the Future fanfic YEARS ago on fanfiction.net that was intended to be the first part in a large series, but I never got around to finishing it.
